For the most accurate measurements:

1. Measure the wall height on the left, center, and right. If the measurements differ, use the tallest one.
2. Measure the wall width at the top, middle, and bottom. If the measurements differ, use the widest one.
3. Measure only the area between the ceiling and baseboard. Do not include crown molding, baseboards, or other decorative trim.
4. Include standard doors and windows in your measurements. This provides extra material for trimming and pattern alignment.
5. Measure each wall separately if you are wallpapering more than one wall.
6. Add approximately 4–6 inches to each wallpaper drop for trimming at the ceiling and baseboard.

For sloped ceilings, alcoves, stairways, uneven walls, or unusually large openings, we recommend contacting Yalik Boutique or consulting a professional wallpaper installer before ordering.

Multiply the wall’s width by its height:

Wall width × wall height = total wall area

If you are measuring in feet, the result will be in square
feet. If you are measuring in meters, the result will be in square meters.

For multiple walls, calculate the area of each wall separately and then add the totals. Wall area is a useful starting point, but your final order should also account for roll width, pattern repeat, trimming,
and installation waste.

For most projects, we recommend including standard doors and
windows in the measured area. The additional wallpaper helps provide enough
material for trimming and pattern matching.

For walls with very large windows, sliding doors, or other oversized openings, contact us for assistance before ordering.

We generally recommend ordering approximately 10–15% more
wallpaper than your measured wall area. Additional material may be needed for:

• Pattern matching
• Trimming at ceilings and baseboards
• Uneven or out-of-square walls
• Corners, alcoves, and architectural details
• Future repairs or replacements

Designs with large pattern repeats or complex wall layouts may require more than the standard allowance. Whenever possible, order all wallpaper for one project at the same time to help maintain consistency.

Yalik wallpaper is currently offered in 24.4-inch-wide rolls
in several lengths. To create a preliminary estimate:

1. Divide the total wall width in inches by 24.4.
2. Round the result up to the next whole number. This is the approximate number of vertical drops required.
3. Add 4–6 inches to the tallest wall measurement to determine the minimum length needed for each drop.
4. Account for the design’s pattern repeat before selecting your roll length.
5. Confirm how many full drops can be cut from each roll, then round the number of rolls up.

Because pattern repeats and wall layouts vary,
we recommend confirming your calculation before placing a large order.

For the best result:

1. Measure each wall carefully.

The measuring process is the same for peel-and-stick and traditionally installed wallpaper. Measure the wall’s height and width, calculate the number of vertical drops required, and allow extra material for
trimming and pattern alignment.

Peel-and-stick wallpaper must be applied to a clean, dry, smooth, and properly prepared surface. Do not install it directly on untreated or unprimed drywall.

Measure the full height and width of the accent wall and use the same ordering method described above. Include doors and windows unless they make up a substantial portion of the wall, and add approximately 10–15% for
trimming and pattern alignment.

No. Installation varies by wallpaper material:

• Self-adhesive wallpaper uses a peel-and-stick application.
• Premium wallpaper is activated by spraying a properly sealed wall with water.
• Standard and specialty wallpapers may require wallpaper paste or a
  material-specific adhesive.
• Contract and textured wallcoverings may require professional-grade adhesive and installation tools.

Always follow the instructions supplied for your selected material. Do not assume that one installation method applies to every Yalik wallpaper.

For the best finish, the wall should be clean, dry, smooth,
stable, and free from dust, grease, old wallpaper, flaking paint, cracks, and
holes.

• Bare plaster or untreated drywall: Seal with an appropriate wallpaper primer and allow it to dry completely.
• Painted walls: Clean thoroughly and lightly sand glossy or water-resistant finishes. Apply primer when necessary.
• Glass, tile, vinyl, or metal: These surfaces may require light sanding, a bonding primer, and a specialized adhesive.
• Textured or uneven walls: Remove existing textured wallpaper and smooth raised areas before installation. Lining paper may help create a more even surface.

Always test a small, discreet area before beginning the complete installation.

Depending on the design, your panels will hang one of two ways:

• Butt joint: Panels are printed edge-to-edge with no overlap — simply hang the next panel flush against the previous one and smooth the seam with a seam roller.
• Overlap joint: Panels include a small overlap on one edge; you'll hang the next panel over that overlap, cut through both layers with a straight edge, then remove the trimmed strip from both sides for a perfectly tight seam.

Your order will let you know which joint type applies to your chosen paper.

Wallpaper performs best on a smooth, properly prepared surface. Raised textures, old wallpaper, peeling paint, and uneven surfaces can affect adhesion and may remain visible beneath the finished wallpaper.

We recommend removing or smoothing the existing texture, repairing imperfections, and applying the appropriate primer. For heavily textured or damaged walls, consult a professional installer.

Some materials, particularly self-adhesive wallpaper, may be suitable for a careful do-it-yourself installation. Larger walls, intricate patterns, specialty textures, metallic finishes, and commercial-grade wallcoverings may benefit from professional installation.

For large self-adhesive installations, two people are recommended—one to gradually remove the backing and one to align and smooth the wallpaper.
